Meet Ms. Melissa
I'm grateful to God for an opportunity to support students and parents who desire to make asking questions and celebrating efforts an essential part of their learning journey. I embraced my teaching and learning journey 24 years ago as a Kindergarten Helper. After earning my bachelor's degree in college, I never thought I would be back in kindergarten as a helper, learning again. God's ways are more significant than mine. I'm excited to share that during my time at Woodward Academy as a Kindergarten Helper, I found my passion and purpose in education.
Excellence in student effort, diverse opportunities, and performance are the guiding principles that best exemplify my educational philosophy. Inspired by my previous experiences teaching abroad in Qatar, Morocco, and China, I am determined to duplicate cultures of thinking among my clients. Also, I create learning partnerships in which trust, clarity, and celebrations are valued and demonstrated. In addition, my unique God-given gifts, diverse leadership experience in grades K-5, and commitment to visible learning make me the perfect educational coach for families that want to enjoy the learning process and have a peaceful homework night.
